Alexandria, VA — July 21, 2021 — The Twig, The Junior Auxiliary of Inova Alexandria Hospital, will be holding its 79th Historic Alexandria Tour “Garden Glimpses” on Saturday, September 25, 2021. “We are thrilled to be offering a tour,” said Mary Schoen, Twig President. “Due to the pandemic, we were unable to have our annual tour last year. “Garden Glimpses” will enable us to raise funds for our community hospital as well as resume The Twig tradition of offering a tour every September.”

This year’s tour will showcase 14 gardens and outdoor entertaining spaces scattered throughout the historic district. Each garden is unique and rarely open for public viewing. Visitors will learn about the garden’s creation as well as some information about the home. An English style garden, a Koi Pond Garden and one garden with a swimming pool are just a few examples of the variety of gardens the public will view.

Proceeds from the tour will support Inova Alexandria Hospital. Since the beginning of the pandemic, Inova has been on the frontlines. Inova continues to treat and vaccinate Alexandria residents. In 2020, Inova provided $33.5 million toward treatment and healthcare programs to those in the Alexandria community without financial resources.
