Animal Welfare League of Alexandria 
Linens donated to The Twig Thrift Shop that cannot be sold are donated to the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria (AWLA). AWLA’s shelter uses the linens as animal bedding.

Carpenter’s Shelter
The Twig Thrift Shop, located in the heart of Old Town Alexandria, provides clothing to the local community at affordable prices. For those who need assistance, the Twig supports Carpenter’s Shelter in Alexandria, Virginia. Case Managers with the Carpenter’s Shelter administer a voucher system for the purchase of clothing at the Twig Thrift Shop.

The mission of the Carpenter’s Shelter is to support the homeless to achieve sustainable independence through shelter, guidance, education, and advocacy.  For more information, visit www.carpentersshelter.org

Lazarus Programs 
The Twig Thrift Shop, located in the heart of Old Town Alexandria, provides clothing to the local community at affordable prices. For those who need assistance, The Twig supports the Lazarus Ministry at Christ Church and St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Alexandria, Virginia.

These programs help those in need with food, shelter and clothing. AMVETS

AMVETS has made a long-term economic impact by providing assistance, jobs, and services to veterans and their communities for more than 70 years.  The Twig Thrift Shop donates suitable items to AMVETS to aid their charity efforts.

ALIVE! House

The Twig Thrift Shop provides Twig-quality clothes to the mothers residing at the ALIVE! House for job interviews.  The House provides shelter and guidance to its residents who were previously homeless or domestically abused.

ALIVE! House was established in 1972 as a transitional shelter for women and families and is the oldest continuously operated shelter for women in Virginia.  For more information, visit the ALIVE! website.
