A Sneak Peek into the Eight Fabulous Historic Homes on the 2026 Tour
Our sincere thanks to those who are graciously opening their homes to the public this year. Those who are lucky enough to visit them are in for a treat! And remember, you will learn the locations of the homes when you check in and receive your tour book.
Here are some teasers to get you ready:
- Come for the Revolutionary War history, stay for the posh décor.
- Visit the Old Town properties of Revolutionary War soldiers, now art-filled homes.
- Can furniture be naughty? Why do Old Town homeowners install European ovens in their kitchens? Our tour will give you some answers.
- Swimming pools, movie stars…ok, no movie stars, but who knew Old Town homes had swimming pools?
- A sketch Picasso drew in five minutes, a Gilbert Stuart portrait, and a Honus Wagner baseball glove: a treasure trove of high art, quirky artifacts, and family antiques.
- A house décor created only by 18th century master craftsmen before machine-made furniture flooded the market.
- Chinoiserie played to colonial fantasies about China as a place of exoticism and luxury, adding glamour to ALX’s colonial — and modern — homes.
- All things Revolutionary in a historic home: George Washington’s favorite writing chair, portrait of Marquis de Lafayette, and a Federal-style eagle mirror.
