The Twig Thrift Shop is not just a great place to shop. It's a great place to donate unwanted clothes and household items as well as help support Alexandria's community hospital.
The Thrift Shop is very popular in Old Town, and well known for its terrific bargains on brand-name clothes for men, women, teens and children. The inventory is only as good as the donations received, and the donations are top-drawer.
Proceeds from The TWIG Thrift Shop benefit Inova Alexandria Hospital.The Thrift Shop has helped The Twig, the junior auxiliary of the hospital, raise more than $2 million for the hospital. Your purchases-as well as your donations - have helped The Twig raise funds to provide a stroke care unit at the hospital, an innovative infant security monitoring system and infusion treatment rooms at the Cancer Center, among other things. Now The TWIG is pledging to raise money for a 16 room telemetry unit, where patients who need care, but not at the intensive care level, can stay for less than 48 hours.
